What's in store for 2020?

So it's the start of a brand new year and with that I have some bog plans for this year! 2019 was a crazy first year for New Fawn Photography which included loads of shoots, meeting loads of lovely new parents, lots of travel across the UK, some great competition results and lots more.

The next three months are busy with bookings already and I'm currently even taking booking requests in April! I currently have an early bird offer on for March, April and May bookings, for more info on my early bird offer please click here.

Last May I attended The Newborn & Portrait Photography Show in Coventry, it was the first time I had attended any photography show and was over the moon when my images made it to the finals in the Newcomer category. Three of my images scored in the top 5 of all entered in the category and my one image scored joint highest score, I was lucky enough to be able to watch the judging live and it was such a fantastic experience, meeting world renowned photographers including Kelly Brown and hearing their feedback on my work.

I can't wait to attend The Newborn & Portrait Show again this year and I look forward to seeing all the beautiful props for sale from the Uk's top prop vendors and also taking the opportunity to listen to the live stage talks by Gary Hill and other favourite photographers. It's also a great opportunity to meet up with photographer friends from around the country that I only get to catch up with at events like this, it'll be a great few days!

The rest of May and June will be packed with maternity, newborn, sitter and cake smash shoots as these were some of my busiest months in 2019 I have no doubt it'll be a busy time of year again in 2020.

In July this year I'm very excited to be attending The Residency of the North, a 2 days event where a selection of the very best educational and inspirational Photographic speakers and influencers in the country provide a series of workshops, talks and shoot sessions. I'll be attending 6 different masterclasses with top photographers and I can't wait!!! Masterclasses I'll be attending include Boudour, Maternity and Fine Art Children's photography, I love learning new styles and editing techniques so look forward to these classes and putting everything into practice in the months after. In December I did quite a few pet portraits for those that wanted Christmas mini's for their fur babies, I really enjoyed photographing dogs so am also booked on to a dog photography masterclass with Gary Hill which I'm particularly looking forward to as this is an area of photography that I would like to offer in the future.

Oscar came to visit in November 2019 for his Christmas Mini Shoot, he was a pleasure to photograph

August and September will be jam packed with a mix of studio and outdoor sessions (hopefully making the most of some lovely summer weather) and I'm sure Christmas minis will take over October and November again as I've already had booking requests for 2020 Christmas Mini shoots which is unbelievable!

So all in all I've got a busy year ahead, lots of photo shoots, loads of skill development and lots of catching up with photographer friends! One such friend is Kathryn Hill who I met at last years Newborn & Portrait Show, Kathryn is a fab mobile Newborn Baby Photographer, Sheffield , she has written some great blogs including her last one on the important questions to ask your newborn photographer, I really recommend giving it a read.
